Lisbon, Portugal.

I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to this city. It’s one of the trips I will never forget in my life. It is a picturesque city, full of alleys, traditional taverns, small shops and yellow trams.

Lisbon, besides its beautiful, picturesque alleys, is also pretty popular for its codfish. The city is full of traditional taverns with fresh fish, so don’t forget to visit one of those and enjoy their delicious dishes.

To be exact, a stop at the “Casa Portoguesa do Pastel se Bacalhau” should be considered mandatory. This is where you will be finding their famous codfish croquets (filled with cheese), which are made and served in a beautiful environment. Casa Portoguesa is located in Lisbon’s central avenue. Even by only passing outside the shop, you will understand from the smells, why it is so popular. The kibble costs 4 euros and it definitely is a great snack. You can accompany it with Portuguese beer and enjoy it while strolling through the shops.

Next stop is the historic patisserie “Antiga Confeitaria de Belem”. Ah, this patisserie!!! I am presenting to you the national sweet of Portugal ‘Pastel de nata’ or ‘Pastel de Belem’. The corresponding translation of pastel de nata into English is dessert with cream. To be more descriptive, it is actually an individual little tart (very reminiscent of the taste of greek bougatsa) stuffed with cream and sprinkled cinnamon.

Did you book your tickets to Lisbon or not yet??
