Tree-Bread
Description
This little tree can lead at your holiday dinners! It's really easy and fun to make with all its beautiful colors. I cooked it together with my daughter and we really enjoyed the process.
Believe me, you will impress everyone by serving it at your dinner table or buffet.
Ingredients
Instructions
Shape a tree in your head.
Using a narrow but long dish, start from the bottom covering the pan with the first ingredient leaving a some space to the bottom so that you add a "log" later on, with bread sticks for example.
You can start at the bottom with the ingredients that take up more space and as you move to the top, add the rest.
Keep in mind that every new layer of your tree has to be shorter in length so that it actually looks like a tree in the end.
You could cut a bread slice in the shape of a star to decorate the top of your tree, and then put whatever you wish on top (mayo for example and then colorful peppers on top, scented butter with herbs or spices, grilled peppers etc.)
Use all of your imagination and experiment with different colors and shapes.
Notes
- The ingredients I am using here are indicative, mainly to inspire you. Choose ingredient you have at home or your favorite ones and experiment creating a happy tree of flavors for your Christmas or New Years table.
- It's an easy and impressive dish which will give a nice touch to your dinner table and you could also prep form the next day as long as you keep it in the fridge covered tight with cooking membrane. I wouldn't suggest to add fresh, cut vegetables from the day before though (cucumber for example).
- A great idea for when you're having unexpected guest too. Try different shapes depending on the occasion to.
Some of the ingredients you could use are also:
- Boiled eggs
- Pickles
- Bread sticks
- Crackers
- Cheese and Cured meat of all kinds
- Nuts and Fruit
- Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
- Jams and Dips
You could also make a sweet version of this for a birthday party, especially good for children.
Happy New Year!
