Soy Kebub Gyro
Description
This souvlaki has the perfect taste without using any animal products. It's definitely worth a try and you will remember my words the moment you take your first bite.
Ingredients
Instructions
Put the soy into a bowl for at least two hours, with the water, broth or wine to cover it completely, so that it can absorb it and inflate.
On the same day
Pile the soaked soy well with our hands and remove the liquids from it.
Then put it in a pot with boiling water, till it boils once and let it in for 5 minutes after it starts boiling.
Strain it and squeeze it as much as possible. Try to essentially, completely dry the soya as much as possible. This will help the dull taste of it to leave.
In a pan that's burning on the stove, pour the olive oil and after a minute add the onion and garlic.
Sauté for 1-2 minutes and add the spices, the tasty, and salt.
Extinguish the food with wine or soy sauce, lower the temperature and let it cook for 10 more minutes.
As it starts drying, break it with your spoon and stir so that it turns into smaller gyro-like pieces.
Notes
- Toast some pita bread either classic or Arabic, add some oregano, paprika, and salt and you will see the masterpiece it will turn into.
- Accompany it with tzatziki, yogurt or hummus, fresh vegetables, and enjoy your favorite souvlaki.
- You could also choose to put the gyro in a mixed greens salad or tabouleh together with your yogurt sauce.
- Lastly you could add quite a bit of parsley with the chopped onion and some paprika too.
You can impress everyone with a recipe like this especially when you have Vegetarian Guests over or having a Barbeque or even during Lent.
