Description

It is, in fact, so easy to prepare a homemade club sandwich that it is not worth buying it ready." It can be a complete meal and a homemade delicacy for the whole family. On Children's Birthday, it will steal the show and the kids will go wow! At a table, for Unexpected Guests, is the perfect idea since we can adapt it to the materials that already exist in our home, even the simplest.  Accompany with a frozen beer or refreshments and enjoy your party with homemade food, without fatigue and while also saving money.

The recipe is the simplest basic recipe but in the notes section, I give you various combinations, to facilitate you and inspire you, when the opportunity arises to prepare it.

Ingredients
  • 3 Bread (toast slices)
  • 1 Cheese (slices for toast)
  • 1 Turkey slices
  • 1/2 Tomato (cut in thin slices)
  • Iceberg (some)
  • 2 tablespoons Cream Cheese
  • 1 Egg
Instructions
  1. If you want to, slightly toast the bread.

  2. Spread cream cheese on top of two of the bread slices.

Place a slice of cheese on one and a slice of turkey on the other.

  3. Cut the egg in slices either using a special tool or a knife.

Place it on top of the turkey and cover it with some iceberg.

  4. Spread cream cheese on both sides of the third slice of bread and place it on top of that iceberg you just added.

  5. Add some tomato on top and finish it with some salt.

Then move on to covering that with the bread slice with cheese you assembled before.

  6. Slightly press it all together and use toothpicks to keep it as one.

Cut it diagonally in half  and separate the pieces with the ingredients looking outwards.

  7. Serve it with some salad or chips and some homemade ketchup.

Notes
  • Use different types of bread creating a variety if you are to make this for a buffet. Some ideas could be whole grain, sourdough or multigrain.
  • When it comes to spreads mayonnaise is usually the most popular one for this recipe but I don't really like it except if its truffle scented. If you don't prefer it either you could replace it with butter, mustard and ketchup, gardeners salad, different types of pesto or humus. You could also prep different types of scented butter or mix your butter with various nuts and herbs for more interesting and special combinations.
  • Choose softer cheese for this recipe, graviera or cream cheeses such as katiki, or melt some ricotta to spread etc.
  • Raw vegetables are usually the safest option for club-sandwiches however adding grilled vegetables could be a very interesting choice if you want to make something different both in terms of taste and looks.
  • You could make yours completely vegetarian or add more meat such as chicken and cured meats or even fish such as tuna and salmon.
  • I am also giving you here some ingredient combinations I've tried and loved for you to make and get inspired: 1. Blue cheese/tomato/chicken/iceberg, 2.Smoked tuna/tomato/cucumber, 3. Pesto/tomato/ricotta/olive oil, 4. Hummus/grilled veggies (red pepper, eggplant, zucchini)/red hot sauce, 5. Pancetta/tomato/tzatziki/onion /parsley, 6. Feta/tomato/onion/olives/peppers/olive oil, 7.Salmon/cream cheese/cucumber/avocado.
